Lilies

When we went to domain there were alot of pretty lilies on display in the winter gardens so I though that I would share some pictures i took of them with you. I like lilies alot and I really like taking pictures of water lilies because land lilies are usually big and so they are really annoying for me. They're that exotic flower that it both beautiful and common in New Zealand I guess, I think they're one of the prettiest flowers, next to roses and they come in all sorts of shapes and colors!

A Trip to the Domain

Well today we went to the domain in Auckland, because we wanted to go to the museum. So first we went to the museum and we saw a new exhibition called "The Secrets Revealed" which is everything they have in storage that they didn't show before, well the thing I found most interesting was a small orangutan which was frozen in a freezer, apparently it might be able to be revived and live on, so I wonder when that will be because that is quite interesting. We saw the rest of the museum, I really wanted to see the exhibition on how humans change things to the world, it is about DNA and genetics, but we found out that it is now replaced by a volcano exhibition which is also interesting but I'm not really interested in it. Then we went to the cafe and to the winter gardens.

Wonderful Flowers

Well about three or four days ago my parent's friend had come over for a barbecue with us to celebrate New Years with her four year old son. Me and this little four year old are good friends and I enjoy playing different games with him. While we were playing different ball games that he had made up I noticed alot of pretty flowers had bloomed in our garden so I decided that I would go and take some pictures of them for this blog. We had a great barbecue and Sasha ( the little boy) showed me that he could draw very pretty little birds. Well today it was raining quite badly in the morning and I was waiting for it to stop because it was unusually boring inside and also because I wanted to take some pictures of the rain drops on the flowers. Well the rain had stopped about ten minutes later but I was too lazy to go outside with my excuse of me not liking the cold. Well by the time I had finally went out with the camera there were not rain drops because I had waited too long so I just took pictures of flowers in our garden which is something I haven't done in quite some time. I think they came out pretty but I did add effects to all of the ones I'm showing you, even if it was just cropping them.

Sorry there are so many of them!

Flowers And A Frog

Well today I found some of my old pictures i took when a frog was living in our garden so I decided to (of course) add some effects to, in my view, make them prettier. Tell me what you think! :)

Long Bay

Well today we also went for a swim because it was such a nice day. We went to Long Bay at about 4:00 pm. When we got there all the car parks were full and we spent about ten minutes looking for a parking space. We decided that my dad would drop me and my mum off and go to his boss's house to check something with the computer while his boss was at work. Me and my mum were left to find somewhere to unpack our things. My mum got changed into her swimsuit while I stayed with my baby brother. I sent a text message to my dad to tell him where we were. Then about 15 minutes later he came and found us. I got changed into my togs and we went for swim, even my baby brother wet his leg a little. He likes being at the beach but not the cold water so he always tucks is legs in when we take him close to the water. my mum stayed with my brother while we were swimming. Then me and my mum went swimming while by dad looked after my brother. We spent about three and a half hours there and it was really fun! :)

Pictures of Candles

Well for Christmas I got pretty candles from my friend Holly that are the jelly type. I haven't had these before so I decided to take some pictures of them to see how they turned out. I added some effects to them because I enjoy making my pictures prettier. I really like Picasa because it's so easy to use and I find it to be really good. I took my pictures inside, in my room, because it's way too windy outside.

New Year's Eve

Well today I went to Shakespeare Park with my parents because it is New year's eve. I had a great time and it was the second time I went swimming this year. The last time it was the middle or winter in the Waikato river (New Zealand biggest river) when I went to camp in October. Even though when you first go into the water it seems really cold but after a while you don't really notice it. We have only been to the park one or two times before. We enjoyed going there because it is about the only park that you have peacocks walking around you. It was a really nice day, the sun was shining and the sky was blue. I took abit of photos of different things. I even got one of a sheep. :) We had fish and chips as lunch and I discovered that you can actually deep fry Moro Bars. I have never tried this and dont think I ever will. I wonder if it tastes nice, have any of you tried it?

Going Ice Skating

Well today since it is the holidays my friend Rose and I went to go ice skating at the Paradice Ice Skating rink. I picked Rose up and then we went straight to the rink. We had lots of fun although at first it seemed a little cold to both of us. But as we put on our skates and got on the ice we didn't really notice the cold because we were both consentrating really hard on keeping our balance. It was really fun even though we did fall over alot, but after a little while we had gotten confident and let go of the sides to try and skate the other side of the rink without falling over. Rose was the first and only to fall. As we became better and better, after recieving a bit of help from professional skaters that were practising close to us we finally became confident enough to try and do some tricks. This of course led to alot of falling but the ice didn,t hurt as much as I had expected. We slowly began to increase our speed and tried new techniques while singing along to the songs we knew that were playing. Three hours flew by really quickly and we took off our skates that we had hired at the shop and went home. It was alot of fun even though i got a nastly blister on my foot that really hurts.
